Mr. Sauceda is a 1984 Dimmitt High School graduate.  He earned his Bachelor's degree  in 1990 and Master's degree in 1994 from West Texas A&M University.

Richard has been with HISD for 16 years.  He began as a teacher at Bluebonnet for 2 years and served as an assistant principal at Hereford Junior High for 5 1/2  years.  He then became the principal at Bluebonnet where he remained for 5 years before becoming the Hereford High School principal where he has served for the past 3 years.

"Hereford High School is here to serve students in grades 9-12.  Our mission is to unite students, faculty, staff, parents and community to enhance student learning.  Our primary goal at our school is to prepare students for the next step in their life whether it is a four year college/university, community college or full time employment.  Team work is what makes for a successful school experience.  It is the teachers’ responsibility to provide effective instruction in the classroom.  It is the students’ responsibility to devote the time, energy, effort, and attitude necessary for learning to occur.  It is the parents’/guardians’ responsibility to support the endeavors of the students and teachers."
