On Pearl Harbor Day, students from Mrs. Vogler's class at West Central visited St. Mary's Catholic Church in Umbarger, Texas. 7 prisoners from a Prisoner of War Camp located near Hereford created numerous paintings, other artistic works and various wood carvings for the inside of the church. Students learned many interesting facts concerning the attack on Pearl Harbor, World War II, the Italian Prisoner of War Camp and the history of the church..
