IMMUNIZATION EXEMPTION--Effective September 1, 2003

On
June 10, 2003, the Governor signed House Bill 2292, which included an
amendment allowing an exemption to immunization requirements for reasons
of conscience, including religious beliefs. Effective September 1, 2003
exemptions from Texas immunization requirements may be granted by school
officials provided the parent or guardian has submitted an official Texas
Department of Health affidavit requesting the exemption. Guidelines
