Bena Glasscock, MEd, LPC
Growing up in this area, I attended public school at Adrian, Hereford, Walcott and Friona. After graduating from Friona High School, I attended Texas A&M University for 2 1/2 years before transferring to Tarleton State University. I have a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics and a Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling from Tarleton. I hold teacher certification in a number of areas, school counselor certification, and principal certification. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Texas.
I have worked in education in Texas for 26 years. I taught Home Economics in Hamilton and then served as a school counselor in Mineral Wells, Kennedale, and Aledo before coming to Hereford High School in 2008.
I live on the family farm with my husband of 27 years. We have 3 sons: a graduate of Oklahoma State University and two current students at Texas Tech University. I love farm life and small towns.
Now in my twelfth year in HISD, I serve a number of roles for the district: campus counselor for the Hereford Center for Accelerated Learning (HCAL), assessment coordinator for Hereford High School, and district coordinator for the HISD Counseling and Health Services departments. I love the varied job description and the opportunities to work with the students, staff, and parents of Hereford ISD.
