Hereford ISD is proud to announce the hiring of Matt Medley as the district’s new Boys Athletic Director and Head Football Coach.
Coach Medley brings 19 years of experience in education and athletics, along with a strong background in leadership and program development. Throughout his career, he has served as a campus athletic coordinator and has consistently demonstrated the ability to build, manage, and elevate athletic programs.
At his previous district, Medina Valley ISD, Coach Medley played a key role in leading a program turnaround that saw the team improve from a 3–7 season in 2021 to district championships and multiple rounds of playoff success in the years that followed. His approach emphasizes discipline, accountability, and a commitment to excellence, both on and off the field.
In addition to his success in athletics, Coach Medley is a strong advocate for academic achievement. He believes that student-athletes should excel in the classroom just as they do in competition and is committed to fostering an environment where academics and athletics work hand in hand.
Coach Medley brings a winning mindset and a vision for developing young men both athletically and academically. We are excited for the future of our program under his leadership.
