✨ 32 Aikman Eagle 4th and 5th graders proudly joined students from across the region to sing the Star-Spangled Banner and open the Amarillo Symphony’s Symphony Under the Stars concert! 🌟🎶

🇺🇸 HCAL and the Daycare came together to honor 9/11 with a heartfelt flag ceremony. Students watched as the flags were raised and lowered to half-staff, followed by pledges, a moment of silence, and the national anthem. A powerful reminder of the significance of this day. ❤️🤍💙

Schedule Update
There has been a change to the HISD calendar. Monday, September 8th will now be a Professional Development Day for all staff to allow for training on important state updates. This date will replace the staff development day originally scheduled for March 2, 2026.

There will be no school for students on September 8th. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Attention HISD families: Next week’s half day that was previously scheduled for Friday, August 29th has been moved to Thursday, August 28 to accommodate an out-of-town game. 🚌📚 Classes will dismiss early on Thursday. Friday the 29th will follow a regular schedule. Bus schedules will be shared soon! Thank you for your understanding!

For just $5 a day, your child can enjoy tutoring, homework help, STEM and art projects, outdoor play, and so much more — all on a flexible schedule that fits your needs. The Hereford ISD Board of Trustees has officially approved the compensation plan for the 2025–2026 school year, aligning with House Bill 2 which designates funding specifically for teacher pay raises. All other staff members will receive a 3% raise at the midpoint. 📱 Heads Up, HISD Families: New Cell Phone Law Takes Effect in 2025–2026 Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, a new Texas law, House Bill 1481 signed by Governor Greg Abbott, will go into effect, placing stricter limits on student use of personal devices during the instructional day. This law applies to all public schools across the state, including Hereford ISD. Under this new law, students will not be allowed to use cell phones or any other personal communication devices during school hours. This includes smartwatches, tablets, gaming devices, and earbuds. Students caught with their devices during the instructional day will receive disciplinary action. Students may leave their phones in the front office or keep them powered off in their backpacks. Students with documented medical needs or approved safety accommodations will be considered for exemptions. Hereford ISD is currently reviewing and updating our policies to ensure full compliance with this new law before the start of the school year. These changes will be reflected in the updated student handbook, which will be shared soon. How You Can Help: We encourage families to begin having conversations with their students now about these upcoming changes.
