The Hereford ISD Board of Trustees has officially approved the compensation plan for the 2025–2026 school year, aligning with House Bill 2 which designates funding specifically for teacher pay raises.
All other staff members will receive a 3% raise at the midpoint.

📱 Heads Up, HISD Families: New Cell Phone Law Takes Effect in 2025–2026
Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, a new Texas law, House Bill 1481 signed by Governor Greg Abbott, will go into effect, placing stricter limits on student use of personal devices during the instructional day. This law applies to all public schools across the state, including Hereford ISD.
Under this new law, students will not be allowed to use cell phones or any other personal communication devices during school hours. This includes smartwatches, tablets, gaming devices, and earbuds. Students caught with their devices during the instructional day will receive disciplinary action.
Students may leave their phones in the front office or keep them powered off in their backpacks. Students with documented medical needs or approved safety accommodations will be considered for exemptions.
Hereford ISD is currently reviewing and updating our policies to ensure full compliance with this new law before the start of the school year. These changes will be reflected in the updated student handbook, which will be shared soon.

Online registration is now open and will close August 10, 2025. Registration will not reopen until the first day of school. The links for registration will not be available until July 14. It is very important that you complete online registration as soon as possible to avoid the possibility of being transferred to another campus due to large class sizes.
