We enjoyed a wonderful performance from the HHS Choir. That performance will be shared soon!
We also recognized our award winning HHS Student Council students, as well as our SkillsUSA state competitors in welding, cosmetology, health sciences, and law enforcement .
We are so proud of these students for representing Hereford ISD with excellence both in and out of the classroom 🙌✨

Big win today! 🏆
Current Events and Social Studies both took 1st place at the regional competition. Social Studies swept the top four spots, and Current Events claimed the top two! Both teams are state-bound in just a couple of weeks! Go Herd!!

Happy Administrative Professionals Day to the incredible individuals who keep Hereford ISD running smoothly each and every day! Your hard work, dedication, organization, and friendly faces make a difference across our district. Thank you for all you do to support our staff, students, and community. We appreciate you today and every day!

If you are 65+ and have your exemptions in place, good news! If the bond passes, your school taxes will not increase because of the tax ceiling protections set by the state. Also, make sure your homestead exemption is on file, as it increased to $200,000 last year. If you have any questions about the bond or how it may impact you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Hereford ISD. We’re happy to help!

School vouchers, also known as education savings accounts, are funded through a separate state program and are not paid for through local property tax dollars collected for Hereford ISD. Local tax dollars generated in our community remain tied to supporting our local schools.
While state policy can impact education funding discussions, our community should not be alarmed by claims that vouchers will drain local resources. Hereford ISD will continue serving students and supporting staff.
If you have questions about school vouchers or their impact on Hereford ISD, please reach out to Dr. Ralph Carter.

We can’t let Assistant Principal Week come to an end without recognizing the incredible work our assistant principals do every single day. Thank you for your leadership, dedication, and the countless ways you support our students, staff, and campuses. We appreciate you!

Our Life Skills students from HPA and HHS had a great time on their field trip to the Deaf Smith County AgriLife Center! They learned how to make desserts, sandwiches, and wraps while gaining valuable hands-on experience. It was a fun and engaging day, and they absolutely loved it! Thank you to everyone who helped out at this fun learning event!
This graphic represents the current project budget summary for the proposed HISD school bond.
There are a few important things we want to clarify. This is not an official budget. Final numbers will not be determined unless the bond passes and official architectural drawings are completed. These estimates are based on research and experience, developed in collaboration with our architect and construction consultants.
The new high school and safe rooms are the top priorities in this proposal. District upgrades will only be considered if funds remain after these primary projects are completed.
The total cost includes a year of construction escalation, as well as turn key facilities, meaning each new space will be fully equipped with technology, furniture, and everything students need on day one.
For this bond, the average homeowner with a homestead exemption would see an estimated increase of $9.83 per month.

What is included in the bond?
This $150 million bond proposal focuses on the future, safety, and growth of our district. Plans include building a new high school, adding safe rooms at every campus, and relocating the softball and tennis courts to make room for the new high school.
One of the most important pieces of this bond is the addition of safe rooms across the district. Currently, all of our elementary campuses use their cafeterias as a gym, cafeteria, and auditorium all in one. Adding dedicated safe rooms will not only add additional safety measures at all campuses, but also free up those shared spaces so students can spend more time learning, eating, and participating in activities without scheduling conflicts.
These safe rooms are designed with safety as the top priority. They will provide secure shelter for our students and staff during severe weather, and they will also serve our community. In the event of inclement weather, these rooms can be unlocked remotely to provide a safe place for surrounding residents.
