Next Friday, November 15, 2024, Hereford ISD will be dismissing school early to allow our community to travel to Odessa and support Hereford in the football game against Riverside! The game will take place at Ratliff Stadium at 6:00 PM. Let's show our Whiteface pride and cheer on the Herd! #GoHerd

Elementary Campuses: 11:30 AM
High School: 11:45 AM

At tonight's monthly board meeting, we recognized our amazing principals for National Principal Month! These individuals dedicate their time and effort into educating our students every single day. We were missing Mrs. Alonzo from HHS and Mr. Stokes from HCAL tonight. Thank you all for everything you do!
We also recognized Kalyn Taylor as our staff recognition for this month! Mrs. Taylor is a counselor at HJH and helps advocate for our students across various boards in the state! Thank you Mrs. Taylor for everything you do!

It's the start of Red Ribbon Week! Red Ribbon Week is a campaign that raises awareness of the dangers of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, smoking, and violence. Parents, the amount of fentanyl it takes to overdose is equivalent to a few grains of salt. Talk with your kids early and often about the dangers of fentanyl and counterfeit fentanyl-laced pills. Avery Detten of the Hereford FFA chapter in Hereford, Texas, has been named a national finalist this year for the Agricultural Communications Agricultural Proficiency Award. Only four FFA members nationwide are selected as national finalists in each agricultural proficiency award area. Avery graduated from HHS last year and is now attending Texas A&M University.
Avery completed an interview round in September and will be recognized on stage on Thursday, October 24 at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN where the winner will be announced.

New Substitute Training Date Added!
If you're interested in becoming a substitute for HISD, join us on October 15th from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM. Please ensure your application is completed prior to attending. The application can be found online at herefordisd.net.
For any questions, please contact the HR Department.

Parents and guardians, please be aware you are not allowed to send medications with your child to school without prior consent. This is for the safety of all of our students and is a state law that the school nurses must follow. Please reach out to your student's school nurse if you have any questions.

Information on how to find the page is below!


The window for gifted and talented testing opened on September 1st and will close on September 30th at 4pm. Any referral after that date will have to wait until the 2025 referral window. If a parent, guardian or community member would like to refer a student to be tested for GT, please reach out to that student's counselor before the end of the month. If you have questions about the program you can reach out to the Coordinator of Instruction, Rebecca Gerhardt.
