At this time, Hereford ISD will have a delayed start for 10am on Friday, January 10th. We will continue to monitor the weather throughout the day and evening and provide an update if any plans change.

Our weather team was in close discussion with the National Weather Service around 4:30 a.m. this morning, as well as several members of our team out driving the roads. At that time, there was a slight possibility of snow, so the decision was made to proceed with school and monitor the conditions. However, with a shift in the weather pattern, we understand that conditions have taken a quick turn. As a result, Hereford ISD will now dismiss classes at 11:30 a.m. today to ensure students can eat lunch before leaving. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.

Hereford ISD will start on time today, Thursday, January 9th. Our teams will be closely monitoring the weather conditions throughout the day. Stay updated by checking our Facebook, Thrillshare, herefordisd.net, and local media for any further announcements.

In the event of inclement weather overnight or in the evening throughout the winter season, our team will closely monitor the conditions and make a well-informed decision by 6 a.m. the following morning.
You will be able to find information about closings or delays through the following sources:
* Facebook
* Thrillshare
* herefordisd.net
* Local news and radio stations

A few months ago we posted about one of our talented students, Sol Lara Lopez, and her accomplishment of being named the 2024 AMET Art Scholarship Recipient. This week, she was able to attend the annual Association for Migrant Educators of Texas Conference where she was recognized with her family. Sol's artwork, "Anchored in Excellence: Rising Together" has been featured across many of the conference's publications, including their program and ID's! We are so proud of Sol and the way she has represented Hereford ISD!

Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our students and staff due to the late football game out of town, and a shortage of staff and substitutes, all Hereford ISD campuses will be closed and classes will be canceled on Friday, November 22nd. We hope everyone takes this time to enjoy a restful and safe Thanksgiving break.
Please note, there will be no need to make up this day, as we will be using our extra instructional minutes to cover it.
Thank you for your understanding and support. We wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
